Example of Consulting Services: Critical Information Protection (CIP) - Information Protection for a New Age. The AEPOS Critical Information Protection (CIP) group''s mission is to assist clients with the protection of information and information systems in four key capabilities: Protection From Network Attacks: Includes those services which aid protecting information assets from a network attack, such as Vulnerability Assessments, Penetration Testing, Incident Identification and Handling procedure development, Systems Hardening, customised threat alerts and advisories, security architecture engineering, and other related support services. Detection Of Network Attacks: Includes services such as IDS implementation and managed services, which help the client determine if a computer network attack is underway or has occurred, and to capture and report incident data. Detection is preferably done in real-time, but can also be conducted off-line after an incident. Reaction To Network Attacks: Includes services which assist clients in responding to a computer attack, by either providing personnel to assist the client''s CIRT or CERT, or by providing an outsourced CIRT service to the client. Recovery From Network Attacks: Includes assisting the client with the recovery of normal operations, by restoring systems, hardening affected systems, and/or conducting lessons learned assessments and incident post mortems.<br>
